Two days after the official gala evening, SIKA marked the next highlight of its anniversary year: on 20 June, the Kaufungen-based family business celebrated its family and summer festival as part of its 125th anniversary.
On this day, the focus was not on facts, figures or milestones, but on the people behind SIKA. Employees, former colleagues and their families came together at the festival site in Kaufungen to celebrate, exchange memories and experience the anniversary in a relaxed atmosphere.
Across the site, people enjoyed food, conversations, games and hands-on activities. For children and families, the program included a bouncy castle, children’s carousel, rodeo, temporary SIKA tattoos and various interactive activities. A special program highlight was the science show by Die Physikanten, which brought technology, experiments and entertainment to the stage.
This combination was a fitting match for the anniversary: for 125 years, SIKA has stood for measuring technology, precision and technical development. At the family and summer festival, this technical side became tangible in a playful and personal way – especially for the younger guests.
The day also made clear how many people have accompanied SIKA over the years and decades. Active employees, former employees, families and familiar faces from many areas of the company came together. For one day, the focus was not on everyday work, but on celebrating together.
The family and summer festival was therefore a deliberately personal counterpart to the official gala evening. While the gala brought together guests from business, politics, the region and the international company environment, Saturday was dedicated above all to employees and their families.
125 years of SIKA are therefore not only a look back at company history. The anniversary shows above all how strongly a company is shaped by the people who help develop it over generations.
